Booking Terms
Last updated: June 30, 2026
These are the terms for booking care with Pax Pals — me, John Khuu, in Chicago, Illinois. When you request a booking, you're agreeing to these terms and to the Care Agreement. I've kept them short and plain, because that's how I like to do business.
It's just me
Pax Pals isn't a company or an app — it's one person. You book directly with me, I care for your dog myself, and you can always reach me directly.
What I offer
Free meet & greets, daycare, and overnight boarding — all out of my home in Logan Square, Chicago.
Meet & greet first
Every new pup starts with a free meet & greet before their first daycare day or boarding stay, so I can be sure it's a good, safe fit for your dog and my home.
How booking works
Daycare and boarding are by request. When you send one, you'll get an instant acknowledgement, and I'll confirm — or let you know I can't make it work — within a day. You're only booked once you get a confirmation from me; an acknowledgement isn't a confirmation yet.
Cancellations & changes
Plans change — just give me at least 3 days'notice to cancel or move a booking, so I can offer the spot to another pup. And because it's just me, if something ever comes up on my end, I'll let you know as soon as I possibly can and help you find another option or refund anything you've paid.
Drop-off & pick-up
Please stick to the times we agree on. Running late? Just text me — I try to be flexible. A very late pick-up can bump into the next pup's time, so depending on how late it is, a late fee may apply.
Payment & tips
Payment is arranged directly — Venmo (@johnkhuu) preferred, or Zelle on request — and nothing is collected when you book. Rates are listed on the Pax Pals page. Tips are never expected, but always warmly appreciated.
What I need from you
- Honest, accurate information about your dog's health and behavior.
- Current vaccinations (see the Care Agreement).
- Your dog's food, medications, and any supplies they need.
- To be reachable — or to have your emergency contact reachable — during the stay.
My promise to you
I'll care for your dog like one of my own and keep you in the loop. For everyone's safety, I may decline or end a stay if a dog poses a risk to people or other animals.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Pax Pals isn't liable for indirect or unexpected damages, and my total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. Nothing here limits anything that can't be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
