Pax Pals is just me, John Khuu, caring for dogs in Chicago. I only collect the information I need to look after your dog and stay in touch with you — nothing more. Here's exactly what I collect, how I use it, and the choices you have.
What I collect
- You: your name, email, and phone number.
- Your dog: name, breed, size, vaccination status, and any behavior or diet notes.
- Your vet & emergency contact: names and phone numbers, so I can act fast in an emergency.
- Your booking: the dates, times, and service you ask for.
How I use it
Only to schedule and provide your dog's care, to confirm and remind you about bookings, and to reach you or your vet in an emergency. I don't sell your information, and I don't use it for advertising — ever.
Who sees it
Just me, plus a couple of trusted services that help me run things, each under their own privacy terms:
- Resend — sends your booking emails.
- Google Calendar — keeps confirmed bookings on my schedule.
I may also share information if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect a pet's or person's safety.
How long I keep it
There's no database behind this — your request only lives inside an encrypted link that expires after 7 days, after which it can't be opened at all. Once a booking is confirmed, its details sit on my calendar and in our email so I can care for your dog and reach you. I clear those out about 90 days after a stay ends, unless I need to keep something longer for a legal or safety reason.
Keeping it safe
Those booking links are encrypted so only I can open them, and I never collect or store payment-card details. No system is perfectly secure, but I take real care with your information.
Your choices
Just email me at hello@johnkhuu.com anytime to see or delete the information I have about you.
